Tuners Falls Library Feasibility Study
PRESERVATION AND REUSE OF ST. ANNES CHURCH IN TURNERS FALLS
This project involves connecting 8 different floor levels [4 in each building] with two accessible ground level entrances, north & south.
The challenge is to preserve both buildings exactly as built while restoring a missing porch and then adding a new entrance shelter as a buildings connector that is not fake historic hurting future historic credits which prefer honest new architecture showing the time built. It is designed to be very open modern and inviting. A cafe will be in the lowest level with the 8 stop elevator tower wrapped by a new winding stairway that fills the greenhouse feeling light and openness.
